Our Asylum Healthcare Program provides essential medical care, nursing support, medications support and health advocacy to people seeking asylum. Many people seeking protection in Australia have disrupted or no access to Medicare. Many people also do not have work rights, do not have income support or are unemployed and rely on charitable organisations.
Please support us to support vulnerable people maintain access to
essential medications, pathology, radiology and medical care.
We have launched an urgent appeal as we are overwhelmed with demand and rely exclusively on donations.
WWG was one of 22 projects who pitched for support through
the 2019 QUT Giving Day. We reached our
tipping point target of $10k in 30 hours in order to convert it to $15k! The
funds were channelled towards our unfunded and pro bono work.
Our inaugural comic relief show Laughter is the Best Medicine raised $36K in one afternoon through a sell-out show, raffles, donations and best of all, a fantastic show with some of Australia’s best comic talent. The funds went to support our unfunded work with people seeking asylum, particularly those who are Medicare ineligible.
The inequities in the health system that lock people out had an enormous impact on WWG in 2017. We launched our Don’t Stand By Campaign to raise $25K in one month by shining the light on the facts of health inequity and passed our target by raising $28K.
WWG uses a social impact framework to measure outputs and outcomes to improve health and wellbeing and health equity for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

World Wellness Group acknowledges that the space we occupy and the place we conduct our work, has and always will be the traditional lands of the Turrbul and Yuggera people.
We understand that the connection between this land and its indigenous people has a special and spiritual significance that benefits social and emotional wellbeing. We pay our respect to the elders past and present of this ancient land and recognise that delivering equitable healthcare requires that we understand, appreciate and reflect our respect for both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We commit to growing and nurturing our relationship with Indigenous Australians, to assuring their rightful place in the journey that is better health outcomes for Australia and to exploring the opportunity for partnerships and collaboration to benefit all.
