About The Program

Culture in Mind offers a free, flexible, culturally responsive non-clinical community based psychosocial program to improve social, emotional and mental wellbeing.

The program provides individual, goal-oriented support to people experiencing complex mental health challenges in the community with a strengths-based approach to wellness, recovery, social inclusion and participation.

The program is co-delivered with Multicultural Mental Health Recovery and Wellbeing Workers and Multicultural Peer Support Workers or interpreters. It also offers outreach into client homes and communities.

Who is This Program for?

Culture in Mind is designed for people who need specialised multicultural mental health support

Multicultural Backgrounds

People from culturally and linguistically diverse communities

Queensland Regions

Brisbane Metro North & South, West Moreton, Darling Downs, Gold Coast

Aged 18+

Open to adults of all ages from 18 years and over

Complex Mental Health

Experiencing severe and complex mental health issues impacting daily functioning

No Diagnosis Required

You don’t need a formal diagnosis to access our support

Ready For Recovery

Willing to work towards psychosocial recovery goals at your own pace

How We Support Recovery

Recovery looks different for everyone: It’s about finding meaning, rebuilding confidence, living a life that feels right for individuals, with the support needed, in a way that fits cultural values and community connections. Recovery may look like:

Referrals

All referrals are triaged to assess suitability and readiness 

Referrals may also be assesses for other/additional WWG services and this will be in consultation with referrers (geographical catchment areas apply)

Criteria

  • People from a multicultural background living in:
    • Brisbane Metro North and South
    • West Moreton
    • Darling Downs
    • Gold Coast 
  • Aged 18+ 
  • Experiencing severe and complex mental health issues impacting day to day functioning
  • People requiring specialised multicultural mental health non-clinical, non-acute support
  • Ready and willing to work towards psychosocial recovery goals
  • No diagnosis required

We work with interpreters and Multicultural Peer Support Workers. We speak your language.

After Hours Services

Available on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

From 6.00pm to 8.30pm.
