Our
Multicultural Seniors’ Wellbeing Group is a free 8-week structured
program for multicultural seniors living in Brisbane North who are feeling
socially isolated.
This group
is for multicultural seniors 60 years or older, who would like to increase
their confidence, learn new skills, create new connections, and reduce feelings
of social isolation.
We support seniors to make new social connections and friendships and while learning about healthy ageing and staying independent.
These groups have morning tea/ afternoon tea provided and are completely free to attend. Seniors who do not speak English are encouraged to join.
We have a multicultural social group for seniors meeting every 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Zillmere Community Centre from 10am to 1pm.
We support seniors to make new social connections and friendships while learning about healthy ageing and staying independent.
The group is free and open to people from multicultural backgrounds aged 60 years and over. Seniors who do not speak English are encouraged to join.
Join our skills group “Our Minds Matter “ , if you are interested in learning skills to manage stress, skills to help you manage emotions , ways to develop and improve relationships, as well as skills to help you be more mindful -to focus your attention and live life in the present.
The groups are facilitated by trained Mental Health Social Workers and Multicultural Peer Support workers trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy,
Language and cultural support are also provided. To participate you need to be 18 and over, from a multicultural background and not an NDiS participant.
