Culture in Mind offers a free, flexible, culturally responsive non-clinical community based psychosocial program to improve social, emotional and mental wellbeing.
The program provides individual, goal-oriented support to people experiencing complex mental health challenges in the community with a strengths-based approach to wellness, recovery, social inclusion and participation.
The program is co-delivered with Multicultural Mental Health Recovery and Wellbeing workers and Multicultural Peer Support Workers or interpreters. It also offers outreach into client homes and communities.
Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast (MCCGC) delivers Culture in Mind on behalf of World Wellness Group on the Gold Coast. Visit their website to find out more: Culture in Mind | MCCGC
Recovery looks different for everyone: It’s about finding meaning, rebuilding confidence, living a life that feels right for individuals, with the support needed, in a way that fits cultural values and community connections. Recovery may look like:
Waking up with more energy to
start the day
Making choices
and
feeling stronger
Attending social groups and making new friends
Feeling connected, including taking part in community
Improving life-skills, identifying strengths and setting goals
All referrals are triaged to assess suitability and readiness to engage.
