Psychiatry Program
The Psychiatry Program is an important component of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. Currently, people from a refugee background or who have had refugee-like experiences are a priority group for this program.
What the program provides
The Psychiatry Program provides clients with a comprehensive mental health assessment and a management plan for ongoing care to be provided by the person’s GP. The assessment can be completed over one or a couple of appointments. Due to limited psychiatry resources, we are unable to provide ongoing care in this program.
The program is fully bulk billed and therefore there is no cost to the client.
